What is your club ethos?

We aim to encourage anyone of any ability to cycle. We don’t focus on times or beating records, and our rides always include coffee and cake! We are affiliated to British Cycling. 

What is the best thing about your club? 

We’re a friendly club who enjoy both the cycling and social side.

What club rides do you run?

Once a week (in normal times) and sometimes extra ad hoc cycles.

Do you wait for dropped riders / mechanicals on some or all of your rides?

Yes we do. Whether we all wait or just one other person, no one is left on their own.

What is the minimum standard you would expect from new club riders? 

We welcome cyclists of all ages and abilities and tailor the rides to suit those who turn up. 

What do you expect riders to bring on club runs?

Spare tubes, money and phone.

One of the ride leaders carries a first aid kit and a list of emergency contacts

Are bikes other than road bikes acceptable on any rides?

Yes. We welcome any bikes, including electric bikes and trikes.

Do you run club social events? 

Not yet. We are a very new club based in a very small village and have very few members. Once we are out of lockdown we can focus on getting back up and running and hopefully expanding the numbers

Do you have a women’s development officer?


Please give details of any projects you have or are running to support and encourage women.

We have a Facebook page where we advertise our rides and always invite women to join us. I also ask friends directly to join us. Sometimes I go out with two or three other women (not members) on our own.

Do you also have a children’s / youth section / Go Ride club?

No. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Do you offer opportunities for members to train as coaches, ride leaders, etc?

We currently have 5 qualified ride leaders.
