Diana

I have been riding bikes since I was a child.

Diana at the Etappe du TourMy first love is road cycling. I ride for fitness and for the sheer enjoyment of it and over the years I have ridden in Majorca, Lanzarote Sweden, France and Italy. I have ridden sportives in Scotland where I live and have also raced criteriums, road races and time trials. I am a member of Hervelo Cycling and am proud to represent them.

I also ride for transport, either alone, with both my children on our cargo bike, or on the tandem with one of my children. Living in a city, I find cycling the simplest and quickest way to travel.

I am passionate about encouraging and supporting more women to cycle at all levels. I lead free rides for women as a Breeze Champion and I also work for Scottish Cycling as an Area Coordinator for Breeze and for British Cycling as a Ride Leader course tutor.

I am also a Level 2 Road Coach and I run my own business, Active Cycle Coaching. Through Active Cycle Coaching I offer cycle skills coaching, with women-only options for all courses, usually at the Fife Cycle Park in Lochgelly, Scotland. I also offer women-only puncture repair workshops in Edinburgh.

kids on the cargo bikeI am keen to encourage more families to cycle, especially on the school run. I am on the School Travel Action Group of the Parent Council at my children’s primary school. In addition to writing the School Travel Plan and campaigning for improved infrastructure to support active travel to school, I run a monthly Bike Bus to School.
