Where are you based?

Dundee, Scotland

Cycling Disciplines:

What is your club ethos?

We’re a small club which is big on ambition. We want to spend as much time on the bike as possible, always pushing ourselves to help others achieve more on a bike.

What is the best thing about your club?

Friendly club members who go above and beyond to help others improve their cycling. The club has produced some great cyclists over the years.

What club rides do you run?

Sessions are run two or three evenings per week. These might be APRs, hilly nights, mountain bike fun or track evenings

On Saturdays and Sundays we run new recruits rides, social rides with café stops and mountain biking when the weather is poor.

Do you wait for dropped riders / mechanicals on some or all of your rides?

Yes, on all club runs. For new recruits rides we also use a “buddy system” to help new riders to stay with the group and explain group etiquette.

What is the minimum standard you would expect from new club riders?

For new recruits rides we would expect riders to be able to maintain an average of around 14 mph over a 30 mile ride.

For normal club rides we would expect around 16/17mph average speed.

The ability to fix your own punctures is essential for longer club rides. We aim to run regular training nights throughout the year to help teach people basic bicycle maintenance and skills.

What do you expect riders to bring on club runs?

Appropriate clothing for the day. Helmets are required on all rides. Also water, energy bar if required, mobile phone, spare inner tubes and kit to repair puncture, money for café stops if appropriate.

Are bikes other than road bikes acceptable on any rides?

No electric bikes.

As long as individuals can maintain the desired club ride speed then a mountain bike or gravel bike would be acceptable too
