What is your club ethos?
Our ethos is all about social cycling in a friendly, supportive and safe group, with the right level of challenge to ensure we get fitter or are able to cycle further.
What is the best thing about your club?
Group rides with lots of laughs in a fun, supportive and safe group.
What club rides do you run?
Women’s section has a weekly ride all year round with twice weekly evening rides in summer. We also do some night riding in winter. Rides are usually half a day, but we sometimes challenge ourselves with 100 mile planned rides. There is a monthly joint social ride with the men’s section.
Do you wait for dropped riders / mechanicals on some or all of your rides?:
Yes. We would not leave people on their own.
What is the minimum standard you would expect from new club riders?
Pace is usually 13-14 mph, but we would adjust it to suit keen new riders.
What do you expect riders to bring on club runs?
No set rules but most people bring tubes or tyre sealant and a rain jacket.
Are bikes other than road bikes acceptable on any rides?
Most ride road bikes, but some ride tourers or mountain bikes are used in winter.

Do you run club social events?
We hold an annual prize giving night and also have ad hoc events to celebrate milestone birthdays, etc.

No, but one of our committee members is a Breeze Champion.

Do you also have a children’s / youth section / Go Ride club?
No, but we have close links with the Annan Youth Cycling Club and one of our committee members is a coach and the club secretary.
Do you offer opportunities for members to train as coaches, ride leaders etc?
No, we don’t have formal coaches or ride leaders.

Third party insurance is mandatory for all riders.
Website / social media etc:
After the first couple of rides newcomers are expected to join the club and take out third party insurance.
Club membership costs £12 a year.
