What is your club ethos?

There is something for everyone in our very friendly, welcoming club. We accommodate cycling disciplines from youth to senior level, participating in a variety of cycling related events. No matter what your age or your ability you are always welcome . As our Breezers say ‘it’s all about the coffee stops!’

What is the best thing about your club?

It’s a club for everyone, and there is always great banter, coffee and cake stops, and someone to help no matter what.

What club rides do you run?

Monday evenings: local Mountain bike rides

Tuesday evenings: Chaingang ride

Wednesday evenings: Junior coaching

Thursday evenings: Time Trial

Saturday: Breeze coaching and rides (women only)

Sunday Club runs – Wheelers (open to all) and Breezers (women only_.

Details of all rides are advertised on group facebook pages (Kelso Wheelers and Kelso Breezers).

Do you wait for dropped riders / mechanicals on some or all of your rides?

Yes. Noone gets left behind. If mechanicals can be fixed road side then it’s all hands on, if not then someone will always wait whilst you and your bike are recovered.

What is the minimum standard you would expect from new club riders?

That riders turn up with a road or mountain worthy bike ready to ride, and have what is required for said ride/event with them. Please be honest if you need any help or advise, we all start somewhere and someone will be happy to help.

What do you expect riders to bring on club runs?

Repair kit/spare inner tubes, money, phone, suitable clothing for the weather and a great attitude. Smiles help miles.

Are bikes other than road bikes acceptable on any rides?

Yes. Please contact the ride organiser if you are unsure.

Yes, we have local events and an end of season social.

30% and rising

Yes – Laura Nisbet

Breeze rides, women only coaching (road and mountain biking), the Kelso Breezers – (women only road rides) and the Muddy breezers – (women only mountain bike coaching)

Do you also have a children’s / youth section / Go Ride club?

Yes. We have currently 7 coaches and 2 trail leaders that run the weekly sessions

Do you offer opportunities for members to train as coaches, ride leaders, etc?

Yes

Membership is via entry central Senior and Junior rates. All rides/events are advertised on the Facebook pages – come along have a try before you join, Speak to any of the coaches or committee for any further information.
