Where are you based? 

North Lanarkshire; Wishaw, Motherwell, Law, Carluke and surrounding areas.

Cycling Disciplines:

Mainly road cycling, but also cross country, mountain biking and track cycling.

What is your club ethos?

“We cycle for cake!”  We are a friendly and supportive club, established in 1935.  We run social/development rides once a week to encourage new and returning riders, and to introduce them to the lovely local country roads in our area.

What is the best thing about your club?

The support and breadth and depth of knowledge in the club.  Members help each other with bike- and non-bike related things.  Strong bonds are formed with friendship and laughter.

What club rides do you run?

We run a regular Sunday cafe ride, Also ad hoc mid-week rides which are open to all,  cross country rides with experienced riders,  track sessions, and some mountain bike rides with experienced riders.

Do you wait for dropped riders / mechanicals on some or all of your rides?


What is the minimum standard you would expect from new club riders?

Generally we would expect new riders to be able to ride for 20+ miles at a pace of around 13 mph average.

Are bikes other than road bikes acceptable on any rides?

Generally yes. Some riders use cross country bikes, especially in winter. A hybrid with slick tyres can be OK too.

Do you run club social events?

We hold an annual prize giving dinner, a summer lunch, a Christmas lunch and short holidays to take part in Audaxes/Sportives.
